Miss Roy offers One-stop clinic visit (also referred to as Triple Assessment) to patients needing assessment for breast symptoms. We aspire to give you the clinic appointment within a week as we appreciate the anxiety and stress caused by breast symptoms.
When you arrive to the clinic, you would see Miss Roy for assessment of your symptoms or concerns, following which she would advice you of the indicated scans, which would be done on the same day on most occasions.
Please ensure you have sufficient time on your hand to allow time for scans (this can sometime take up to 2 -3 hours), otherwise you could choose to book the scan appointment for another day.
Some patients may require biopsy following the scans and is usually offered at the same time. There are occasions when the biopsy needs special equipment and therefore needs to be scheduled for another day.
One-stop Clinic is offered to all patients we anticipate would require imaging (scans). This is available only on Thursdays as this requires availability of a Consultant Breast Radiologist. You would be advised if thats not possible (on occasions).

The scan results are explained by a friendly radiologist the same day before you leave the clinic. You and your GP are then written to by the surgeon to ensure you have a written record of the consultation with the outcome.
If a biopsy is performed by the radiologist, you would be brought back to the clinic to see Miss Roy, the following week to discuss the results and management options.

If you are advised MRI scan of the breasts, these are arranged for another day at The Churchill Hospital, Oxford.
Cost: You would be advised of the cost for Consultation at the time of making appointment . Any other tests and/or scans recommended incur additional cost cost and we would advice you to enquire before going ahead with the tests.
